2024 Year in Review
As 2024 comes to a close, it’s hard not to reflect on all the incredible moments and milestones we experienced this year. It was a year of change, memories, and growth for the Hoole family, and through it all, we found plenty of reasons to smile and celebrate.
Celebration of Life - In January, we hosted a Celebration of Life dinner for my late father, Richard Hoole, at Four Oaks Country Club. It was a touching evening, filled with love and laughter, as 184 guests - ages 2 to 80 - gathered from three countries and nine states. Given my dad’s love for golf, the venue couldn’t have been more fitting. The stories and memories shared were a testament to the incredible man he was, and while we miss him deeply, the event left us with warm hearts and gratitude for the legacy he left behind.
Winter Adventures in New Hampshire - February brought us to the historic Mount Washington Hotel, where we enjoyed two nights of relaxation and adventure. From swimming in the pool to savoring a delicious meal at Stickney’s, every moment was special. The kids mailed postcards from the charming in-hotel post office, and Alisyn and I even had a drink at The Cave, a prohibition-era speakeasy in the hotel basement. The highlight, though, was heading across the street to ski at Bretton Woods. We had an unseasonably warm day, reminiscent of spring skiing, yet there was still enough snow cover for Carsyn and Brody to weave through the resort’s vast gladed trail network.
After leaving Bretton Woods, we headed south to the RiverWalk Resort in Lincoln. This year was particularly special as we officially became owners of a winter seasonal condominium at the resort. This marked a new chapter for our family, giving us a place to call home during ski season and creating a sense of permanence in a spot that has brought us so many cherished memories. We skied at Loon, enjoyed dining and shopping in nearby Woodstock, and spent countless hours in the outdoor pool and hot tub. The trip wasn’t without a hiccup, though, as Brody took a tumble on the slopes and suffered a concussion, which landed us in the ER on our last night - a far cry from the snow tubing and dinner we had planned. Thankfully, he made a full recovery within two weeks and was back on skis, tackling the trails with his usual reckless abandon.
A Summer Visit to Little Silver, NJ - In July, we took a road trip down to Little Silver, New Jersey, to visit my cousin Bailey, her husband James, and their daughters Paxton and Piper. While there, we spent a few days at The Sands, an incredible beach club they’re members of. With a pool, snack shack, lockers, and umbrellas, it had everything you could want for a relaxing day at the beach. The kids loved it, and so did we. As a bonus, we got to spend some time with my good friends Brennan and John, who are also club members. It was a fantastic trip filled with sunshine, good food, and great company.
Looking Ahead - As we look to 2025, we’re excited for what the future holds. Whether it’s creating new memories at RiverWalk, exploring new places, or simply enjoying more time together as a family, we’re ready to make the most of the year ahead. We hope you and your families have a safe, happy, and prosperous New Year. Here’s to making 2025 our best year yet!
Warm Regards, the Hoole Family.
