2018 Year in Review

MONEY TALKS - 2018 was an exciting year for the Hoole family. With the kids getting older, we found ourselves spending a lot of time at the playground, riding bikes, and looking for activities to keep the kids busy and burn off extra energy. Carsyn earned her first stripe in karate and is doing well in her swim lessons. Brody recently started gymnastics as a way to utilize his crazy strength, coordination, and agility (he just needs to learn how to wait his turn in class).

Carsyn's 5th Birthday - In January we celebrated Carsyn’s 5th birthday with a Shimmer & Shine themed party at Imajine That Museum. The kids really enjoyed all of the activities; while the adults appreciated the Starbucks coffee onsite. A few weeks later, Jared and Carsyn attended the Daddy-Daughter Dance held at Castleton Banquet Center. Carsyn really enjoyed getting dressed up, doing her hair, and wearing her corsage. Unfortunately, dad was not cool enough to be invited onto the dance floor (I thought I had a few more years before the kids picked up on my second-rate dance moves).

Florida Vacation - In April we enjoyed a much needed vacation to Florida with Alisyn’s family. The trip started off great with an uneventful trip to the airport. We breezed through security and boarded the plane without delay. Unfortunately, as we approached Florida, there was a massive thunderstorm which made landing at our destination too dangerous. After circling the Orlando airport several times our fuel reserves became low and we were diverted to Fort Myers. We eventually reached our final destination in Kissimmee after about 9 hours of traveling! Luckily that was the end of our bad luck. We had excellent weather and Carsyn was very excited to spend her first time at Disney World with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. While Carsyn really enjoyed Thunder Mountain, the highlight of her trip was the condominium pool. On the third day of our vacation Carsyn literally spent 8 hours straight in the pool meeting new friends and pretending she was a mermaid.

Summer Vacation - In July the Hoole family took their annual vacation to Lake Winnipesaukee. We had excellent weather, enjoyed the company of some dear friends, and spend a lot of time boating around the lake looking for the nearest ice cream stand. We also took a day trip to both Story Land and Santa’s Village. Brody enjoyed the Ho Ho H2O water park while Carsyn liked the thrill of the Roar-O-Saurus rollercoaster.

Kindergarten - This fall Carsyn started ½ day kindergarten. While mom and dad were initially worried about the transition, Carsyn handled it like a pro. It certainly helped that eight of our neighbors are at the bus stop every morning. The daily walk to the bus stop has turned into a social hour and is often the highlight of Brody’s day because he gets to play with the older boys and wave to his big sister on the school bus.

Brody's 2nd Birthday - Last weekend we hosted Brody’s 2nd birthday party. Brody was very excited to get some new trucks and dinosaurs although his favorite toy was a replica Dyson Vacuum. As much of a bruiser as he can be, he is truly a mama’s boy at heart. The highlight of the party was hearing Brody and his best friend Preston demonstrate who could make the loudest dinosaur roar. You would be amazed by how loud a couple of 2 year olds pretending to be dinosaurs can be!

We are looking forward to a fun and exciting 2019 that will include Uncle Jesse and Laura’s wedding reception at Waterville Valley in June. Alisyn and Jared are also hoping to get away for long weekend to hear some country music in Nashville. We hope you all have a safe and prosperous 2019. Yours truly, the Hoole Family.
